Good morning, sir,
today I present to you a Easter DIY made with my six-year-old daughter Artemis.
By dint of seeing me do so many things, she obviously wants to participate and says to me: Mom, can we do something together, please? I know that the verb “to do” does not mean to “do” shopping or housework, but to “make” something together.
Easter is the perfect time for creative hobbies: stick your nose in a hobby shop and you’ll be sure to come out with your arms full of cute things for a top-notch Easter décor.
Here we go for a DIY Easter Wreath!

A DIY Easter Wreath in two parts

I propose you to discover this DIY in 2 parts.
The first part can be done with children and the second part is more for adults or older children who have mastered sewing needles.

A beautiful Easter wreath

To make this pretty wreath to hang on your front door or in your house, you will need materials that can be found in all hobby shops or on Amazon.

The equipment

You will need the following items to complete the first part of the DIY :

The tutorial for making the Easter wreath

Plant metal attacks in polystyrene eggs and carrots. This will allow you to hold the eggs and carrots without getting a lot of paint on your fingers.

Paint the eggs whole, holding them by the clip.
That’s when the kids have the most fun… you’re allowed to put it on your fingers if you want
We still chose to put on a little blouse to limit the damage!

Once the egg is painted, you don’t know where to put it!
It’s simple though, just pass a stick through the egg’s attachment and place the stick on a large box. This way the egg stays in suspension while it dries.

Apply a second coat of paint for more intensity.

Draw small white dots on the eggs.

Tip for making peas in paint

You can do it with a stamp cut out of a cork. Stamping is easier for a child than drawing a circle of paint.

Customize your carrot!

Paint the carrot green and orange. You have the right to be more original if you want to!

Don’t hesitate to use shades of orange for more relief.

And the crown?

Take the wicker stem and bend it to the desired shape. You can make a round crown or a buckle. I chose to make a loop. Fix it with string.

Once the eggs and carrots are dry, tie them to the wicker with string using the metal clip. You can add a dot of hot glue with your glue gun if you feel that it slips and it won’t hold for long.
I use a Gluepen cordless glue gun from Bosch. No wire, it’s really ultra practical and efficient, I love it!

Cut the ribbons into 10cm to 15cm pieces. Cut the ends at an angle.
Glue the ribbons between each egg around the crown with the glue gun. You can of course use glue in a tube, but you will have to wait for the glue to dry by pinching the piece of ribbon.

At Christmas, we celebrate and when you celebrate, you get confetti!
For this beautiful showcase created for the 2017 DIY Créations et savoir faire show, I decided to sprinkle it with golden confetti.

Look, they’re on the ground and on top of the packages!
Of course they remind you of the points that are on the Christmas packages as well as on the walls and the Advent calendar.

How did I make this confetti?

For this I used beautiful gold paper from Selfpackaging and a simple punch with a big hole.

It may sound simple but many people have asked me where to find these confetti, where to buy them!
The theme of my showcase was a NOEL DIY then jumping at making your own confetti, right?

It takes a little time but it’s really economical!

Economy DIY? Really?

In addition, your punch will serve you a thousand times if you are a DIY enthusiast.

I have already used this punch to make crazy plastic pendants, to create artwork with my 5 year old daughter: she painted sheets of paper in different green shades. We drew a brown trunk on another sheet. She had fun making lots of confetti in the green leaves. Then she glued the green dots on the trunk. Isn’t that nice? I’ll show you a picture of all this the day we do it again. A nice DIY for the kids.

Today I’m going to present you a great DIY that I made with my partners Price Minister and Oui Are Makers: concrete Christmas decorations to keep for yourself or to give as a gift!

I made for you a nice tutorial to make: a star-shaped cup that you can use as a cup for your jewelry, as a candle holder, as a small decorative house for your mini Santa Claus.
I also show you how to make a small concrete Christmas tree decorated with beads.

The tutorial:

if you’ve never made concrete before, it’s time to get started!
I found all my material on Price Minister.

The equipment:

Step 1

Oil your mussels.
You can use a brush to reach the corners well.
A not too thick layer of oil will suffice.

Step 2

We have to prepare the concrete.
To do this, follow the instructions for use: for this brand, put one dose of water in a container, then put 10 doses of concrete.

This concrete is not very thin, there are thinner ones to make “smoother” casts.

I started mixing with a chopstick, then with the spoon.
I added a little water.
Mix sufficiently until the concrete is homogeneous.

Step 3

Fill the moulds: start with the large star mould. Fill it halfway up.

Insert the small star mould – previously oiled – into the still fresh concrete.
As you can see, in my little mold I had already poured concrete and I left the concrete star inside in order to have some weight.
This way the small mould stays well in the fresh concrete.

Step 4

Fill the tree with concrete.
Take round, shiny beads and place them on fresh concrete.

With a small glass or other object, press the beads down to embed them sufficiently in the concrete. Don’t forget that the concrete will dry and they must stay in it.

Step 5

Leave to dry for 24 hours and unmould!

Put a candle, sweets, little Christmas baubles in your star bowl, anything is possible.

As you can see, the grain of the concrete is quite thick but it has its charm.
