How to prepare your Christmas center
one. Prepare the sponge. The first step will be to cut the sponge forming a circle that fits the plastic container. The sponge will be the base of the center and will allow us to hydrate the different plant elements that we will be adding. Dip the sponge in a bucket. It is important that you don’t sink it, you have to let it soak itself.
2. When you have the sponge soaked, place it in the plastic container, and nail the candle in the center of the sponge. So that the sponge does not break, you can put some forks in the candle before nailing it in the base. So that the wax does not break when you put the fork, you can heat it with a lighter so you can sink it without problems. Another solution for the candle is to glue it with silicone.
3. The next step will be place a pinsapo base, a kind of spruce with which crowns and Christmas centers are usually made. Clicking on the side of the sponge, we cover the base. Do not put the branches of this fir tree too long, because they are the ones that will mark the width of your Christmas center.
4. Once you have the base of the pinsapo, it is time to place the pine twigs. You have to prick them over the previous layer, beginning to cover the surface of the sponge. In this step, be careful not to put too long branches that approach the top of the candle to avoid dangerous situations due to the flame.
5. To give a different and sophisticated look to the center, let’s put leucodentro, a beautiful flower from South Africa. We will split the wand in two, pricking the flower itself on one side, and on the other hand, the rest of the stem with the leaves.
6. Place the holly and ilex branches. Remember that catching holly at this time is prohibited, so always buy this plant with red fruits in a florist shop. With holly and ilex we will add a touch of color to the center and give it that Christmas air that we like so much.
7. To finish, distribute golden twigs In the center. If you can’t buy them already golden, you can dye them with a golden spray.
Following these simple steps, and with a little imagination and skill, we would have our center to decorate our Christmas table. And to get it preserved, remember to pour some water on the sponge every two or three days Do you dare to prepare with your own hands a Christmas center with which to surprise your guests?
